I believe that everyone needs a passion in life… something that fulfills you, that makes you whole. Scrapbooking is my passion. I love every part of the process; from taking the photographs, writing the story behind the photographs, pulling together a color scheme, the layout and design of a page, and finally adding embellishments to further enhance and reinforce the theme. Scrapbooking brings life to our memories. My children are still young, and while I appreciate their current love of looking through our family albums, I cannot help but feel that our memories will be even more appreciated after they are all grown up and possibly starting families of their own. At that time, I might see one of them with a slight smile on their face as they read what my thoughts were while I watched them open their birthday presents on that special day so long ago. And even for myself… as hard as it is, I can almost imagine a time when my job as raising my children is just about complete and I might be feeling the “empty nest” syndrome. Why, all I’ll have to do is pull out an album and remember a particular face that one of them used to make when they were so young, and it will seem as if it were only yesterday. That is the main reason why I scrapbook… to remember, to allow them to remember, and so that future generations might know what it was like to grow up in this household. Thank you for stopping by!
